Job Summary: Responsible to appropriate supervisor of area to which assigned. Orders and maintains appropriate par levels of medications and supplies and managing shortages and back orders. Communication with pharmacy director and pharmacy staff of any ongoing shortages. Obtains drop-shipped items Responsible for adhering to hospital contracts that affect the pharmacy purchasing. Is accountable for wrong or damaged goods that are received. Controls the paperwork and computer work involved with invoices, accounting and payments. Is responsible for interdepartmental billing. Responsible for coordinating the annual drug inventory. Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions: Inventory - Orders stock, both formulary and non-formulary, checks for out of dates and recalls, and rotates stock. - Responsible for acquiring emergency medications in a timely manner. - Deals with inventory, auditors, and drug company representatives. - Arranges for and supervises the pharmacys annual inventory - Supervises the drug purchasing program - Monitors revenues and expenses to identify deficiencies or excesses. Assists Director - Assists the Director of Pharmacy in preparing the annual operating and capital budgets. - May review monthly financial reports, and contacts Accounting Department (analyst) to notify of discrepancies and provides information to the Director of Pharmacy concerning significant variances. Miscellaneous - Processes paperwork for billing, credits and ordering - To assist the pharmacists and other technicians when needed in ensuring prompt, accurate delivery of medication in support of patient care. Required Minimum Education: High school diploma Required or GED Required Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s): All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.

Additional License(s) and Certification(s): Registered with the Georgia State Board of Pharmacy Upon Hire Required Required Minimum Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in specific areas of the Pharmacy. Required and Exposure and/or experience in high risk areas (e.g. Specialty IV Admixture, Purchasing/Inventory Control, Controlled Substance Distribution and Accountability. Required Required Minimum Skills: Basic typing skills. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and other general computer skills. Good oral and written communication skills. Basic management skills. Good problem solving skills. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to lift a minimum of 30 pounds. Ability to push a transportation cart of approximately 100 pounds.
