The Role
The Procurement Systems Manager is responsible for ensuring optimal operation of the buying system currently known as SCORE which is provided by Manhattan as DPRi. They  are accountable for day-to-day operations involving new vendor set up to ensure optimal buying of goods; upload support; as well as troubleshooting to support various areas in the supply chain from DCs through buyers and managers.

The Procurement Systems Manager role is responsible for making appropriate system configuration changes to support the needs of the business, facilitating system-driven process improvement, and creating solutions to business opportunities.  The incumbent will also serve as a subject matter expert and will lead relevant systems training for Buying team.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to analysis, selection and modification of application software, installation of hardware and software, database management and integrity. Generally, requires subject matter knowledge of a user group for practical application of system characteristics. 

Minimum Requirement

Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 9+ years of professional experience and 1+ years of supervisory and/or management experience.

4-Year Degree or 9+ years equivalent job experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing and executing the various tools and options used by the buying system to optimize ordering and inventory.
  • Facilitate the development of new and/or improved buying processes via system solutions, including requirements definition, working with software vendor and internal IT to communicate requirements and approve design, testing, training, and implementation (e.g., design new forecast review screen, how to handle cross-stock situations) 
  • Research and solve production system issues in a multi-echelon environment; includes deep analysis of replenishment algorithms and how they impact buying calculations; also, includes requirements definition, working with software vendor and internal IT to communicate requirements and approve design, testing, training, and implementation (e.g., solving multi-echelon inventory issues)
  • Provide analysis requested by management, usually testing what-if scenarios for various business decisions (e.g., what would happen if we were to increase/reduce service level goals, make distribution center changes) 
  • Collaborate with Management and Business Analysts to make recommendations on improvements to the buying system.  Establish, maintain, and expand regular communication with internal customers (distribution centers) and internal stakeholders (distribution center managers, purchasing team, product management etc.), ensuring quick response times and satisfactory problem resolution and developing strong customer partnerships to ensure the success of McKesson’s buying programs.
  • Responsible for ensuring orders are created as scheduled or ad hoc as needed including holiday closures within the network
  • Testing of new enhancements and upgrades as well as performing user acceptance testing
  • Perform various system maintenance tasks to ensure system is running optimally such as data analysis, clean-up and update activities
  • Assumes coverage role for team members when they are unavailable
  • Occasionally required to troubleshoot on nights and weekends to insure no interruption in service
     
     

Critical Skills:

  • Strong understanding and experience with inventory management, purchasing and replenishment systems including order cycles, order points, and demand forecasting.
  • Ability to execute changes in the buying system and develop metrics to determine effectiveness of the changes.
  • Advanced MS Office proficiency (Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook)
  • Database reporting and analytics with Access or SQL
  • Some familiarity with SAP or similar ERP applications
  • IBM iSeries/AS400 knowledge of file structures and AS400 query experience
  • Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills in a fast-paced environment; ability to prioritize and plan work activities, using time efficiently. Able to execute without direct supervision.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective, positive internal working relationships with a diverse group of individuals
  • Must be open to feedback and can be flexible and adaptable
  • Readily able to learn and adapt to new computer applications, system upgrades and other technology as necessary

  • Prior exposure to Manhattan Inventory Replenishment and Demand Forecasting application experience a plus

Working Conditions:
General Office demands.

Available to work in Las Colinas office and remotely depending on current department policies.

Our Base Pay Range for this position

$117,500 - $195,900
