The Amex GBT Consulting team consists of Consultants from a wide variety of backgrounds - from the Air/Hotel/Ground industries, travel, management consulting, IT consulting and general management. Since its establishment in 2007, our team has grown rapidly due to the maturity of the travel landscape and investments in the business.

Primary area of focus for the position will be related to the Hotel practice line which spans corporate hotel program strategy design and execution including sourcing, program compliance, and optimization.  This person will manage several consulting project workstreams across multiple clients.  The ideal candidate is a self-starter with consulting, project management and industry experience. This candidate is comfortable and experienced working in a remote environment but can travel up to 20% of the time as needed.

What We're Looking For:

  • Effectively implement multi-workstream engagements, prioritize client requests and use project management methodologies and tools such as project plans and issue logs. Experience in applying change management techniques to drive sustainable engagement impact and ROI. Creates deliverables within established engagement scope, quality standards and time frames

  • Experience leading projects with global customers. Hotel subject matter expertise including knowledge of RFP tools (Cvent, Sabre RFP, ReadyBid, et

  • Develops hypotheses and identifies data to evaluate based on client needs. Reviews and validates analyses, develops options/alternatives and creates insightful recommendations in context of total engagement. Strong innovative attitude.

  • Understanding of both TMC travel data and supplier/third party data (Air/Hotel/Car rental supplier, Corporate Card, Expense, etc.) Familiarity with data visualization tools and reporting (i.e., Tableau). Ability to create custom models and scenarios using available datasets

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, listening ability and written presentation skills. Ability to deal with ambiguity and present/discuss work results in a compelling manner. Distills complex subject matter into key messages for team members and clients

  • Understands client organization and dynamics. Builds strong working relationships with all key partners. Leverages Amex GBT and available industry tools and solutions to develop best-in-class deliverables and standard processes

  • Experience successfully navigating global, for global client with the ability to articulate the value delivered through project work to all levels of client partner. Ensure client satisfaction ensuring a superior client experience

  • Operate in a team-oriented environment with a strong sense of responsibility toward team members, engagement objectives and practice line development. Demonstrates strong work ethic with peers and clients. Experience working with analysts (onshore & offshore) to create & deliver positive client outcomes.

  • Experience & understanding of the Travel industry. Experience representing a firm or client’s interest within the marketplace (i.e., suppler/industry conferences) 

  • Commercial attitude; ability to led business development efforts in addition to project delivery. Own retention of existing clients and revenue; upsell and cross sell Consulting solutions to new and existing customers driving increased revenue and maintain profitability across all growth opportunities.

What You'll Do:

  • Bachelor's degree required, MBA strongly preferred, PMI certification a plus

  • 2-3 years’ experience in a traditional consulting and/or Hotel strategy, sourcing and optimization role.   Knowledge of strategy, financial/business operations, cost management preferred.  Experience in the travel industry is preferred.

  • Experience managing hotel programs through platforms such as Cvent and data visualization solutions

  • Strong skills in communication, data interpretation and presentation. Execution using data visualization tools such as Tableau, Birst, Power BI or others.

  • Demonstrated ability to think conceptually, using strong analytical skills; ability to evaluate alternatives and recommend client solutions

  • Energetic, curious and creative

  • Highly client-focused with the ability to demonstrate attention to detail and focus on quality

  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite of tools with a concentration in Excel and PowerPoint

  • Ability to interact effectively with people at all levels within a team or client organization

The US national annual base salary range for this position is from $46,000 to $93,000.  The national range provided includes the base salary that GBT expects to pay for the role.  Actual base salary will be based on factors including the scope and complexity of the role and the successful candidate’s relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and work location.
