As Caterpillar modernizes its global finance capabilities, we are looking for a strategic FP&A senior leader to join our Global Finance Strategy team and help lead the next generation of planning, analysis, and management reporting. This role offers the opportunity to shape the future of the finance function by spearheading the deployment of OneStream—our new unified platform—and ensuring its successful adoption across the enterprise.

As the Senior Strategy Manager, you will drive the strategy for next‑generation solutions that streamline planning and forecasting, enhance business insights, and align with Caterpillar’s refreshed corporate strategy and values. You will play a pivotal role in “Transforming How We Work” by modernizing global finance processes. This high‑impact role combines strategic leadership, cross‑functional collaboration, and innovation, with the opportunity to drive meaningful efficiency gains and value creation across a Fortune 100 finance organization.

What You Will Do:

• Lead the development and execution of Global Finance first‑generation strategy for management reporting and xP&A.
• Define the future vision and roadmap for next‑generation, enterprise‑wide planning, forecasting, and management reporting using the OneStream platform, shifting finance from manual processes to automated, insight‑driven analytics.
• Lead a team of finance professionals to design and deliver future‑state xP&A solutions (e.g., integrated driver‑based planning models, dashboards, and analytical tools) that improve forecasting accuracy and efficiency across business and financial planning processes.
• Partner closely with cross‑functional teams—including Corporate FP&A, IT, and business units across the Global Finance Services Division—to gather requirements, drive consensus, and ensure initiatives are aligned with enterprise priorities and deliver maximum business value.
• Communicate strategic vision and ROI for complex initiatives, business cases, and technology roadmaps to senior executives and governance committees, securing leadership support and resources.
• Establish governance frameworks that support continuous improvement through structured feedback loops, leveraging Strategy Leads and Ambassadors across the business.
• Lead change management efforts to drive adoption of OneStream and extended planning & analysis (xP&A) processes across the organization.
• Foster a culture of integrity, teamwork, and excellence aligned with Caterpillar’s Values in Action, serving as a role model for change, innovation, and continuous improvement.

What You Have:

• Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
• Finance & Strategy Experience: 10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, finance transformation, or related roles, with a demonstrated ability to develop FP&A strategies or lead large‑scale finance systems and transformation initiatives.
• Technical Expertise: Strong experience with enterprise financial systems and performance management tools; familiarity with OneStream is required.
• Leadership & Communication: Proven leadership and project management experience, including leading cross‑functional teams or finance transformation efforts. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial and technical concepts to senior leaders.
• Strategic & Analytical Mindset: Strategic, analytically strong leader with solid business acumen and problem‑solving skills; able to translate data into actionable insights and drive data‑informed decisions in a global, cross‑cultural environment.

What Will Set You Apart:

• Industry Experience: Experience in a large, industrial or manufacturing company’s finance function, with a solid understanding of management reporting, forecasting, and core accounting processes. Direct knowledge of Caterpillar’s business model or similar heavy industry is preferred.
• Finance Transformation: Hands‑on experience leading or supporting finance transformation or system implementation initiatives, ideally as a workstream lead or project manager. Experience with a OneStream implementation is highly desirable.
• Advanced Analytics: Proficiency with modern FP&A tools and methods, including driver‑based and scenario modeling, data visualization, and predictive analytics. Experience with AI/ML‑enabled forecasting tools (e.g., OneStream Sensible ML or similar) is a strong plus.

Summary Pay Range:

$172,630.00 - $258,950.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
