The work:
Interpreter

• facilitates communication between a Japanese-speaking party and an English-speaking Filipino counterpart. Meetings and conferences may be conducted in physical or virtual platforms.
• interprets oral communications such as discussions at meetings and events. It is crucial that interpretation is accurate without leaving out or changing any information that is being communicated.
• interprets trainings conducted by Japanese technical staff for English-speaking staff (and vice versa) especially during the transfer of new product lines or in improvement projects.
• moderates presentations involving Japanese and English-speaking staff. Area of interpretation can vary widely from management concerns to technical discussions.
• assists in the daily conversations initiated by a Japanese or English-speaking staff regarding a particular concern. These are usually short and spontaneous instances in daily operations where an interpreter is immediately needed.

Translator

• translates various forms of internal written communications including documents and forms, minutes of meetings, email correspondence to presentations.
• translates contracts and documents for software developers, programmers, testers such as those for analysis, development, design, test specifications, limitations as well as bug reports for Software Quality Assurance (SQA).
• translates documents pertaining to the transfer of certain product lines. These include manufacturing standards, equipment control standard, manuals, working standards, control plan, design and process, drawings, inspection forms, instructions and reports.
• attends to queries raised regarding the deciphering of Japanese words or characters contained in a document.
• uses translation tools for dictionary and TM-building. It is important to accurately and consistently convey the meaning of the original text and be faithful to the essence of the text.

Professional & Technical Skills:
- Required Skill: Expert proficiency in Japanese Language.
- Strong understanding of linguistic nuances and technical terminology in Japanese and English.
- Experience in translating technical documents and materials.
- Knowledge of translation tools and software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 2 years of experience in Japanese Language.
- This position is based at our Cebu office.
