Who We Are Looking For:  

This opportunity is ideal for individuals interested in contributing to our team as a Software Engineer Intern within State Street’s Global Technology Services organization. Our technology function, Global Technology Services (GTS), is vital to State Street and is the key enabler for our business to deliver data and insights to our clients. We’re driving the company’s digital transformation and expanding business capabilities using industry best practices and advanced technologies. What You Will Do:    

In this role, you will perform the following day-to-day activities:  

• Collaborate closely with Product Owner, Business Analyst, QA and other development team members
• Implementation, deployment and maintenance of cloud-based system and AI related projects based on requirements, ensuring code quality and performance optimization
• Guarantee code quality by enough unit testing, bug fixing and performance tuning
• Pair-work with QA to refine requirements, deliver demo to business
• Work with DM and team to implement Left-Shift testing, TDD (Test Driven Development) or BDD (Behavior Driven Development)
• Learn and implement best practices in coding and design, and keep up on the latest developments with Java, database and JavaScript frameworks such as ReactJS
• Use AI development tools like Github Copilot to improve development efficiency, write MCP services based on business and development requirement

Education and Preferred Qualifications:  

Candidates should be:  

• Final-year undergraduate or graduate students pursuing degrees in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical disciplines who are interested in converting to a full-time role post-graduation 
• Enthusiastic about building a long-term career in a dynamic, technology-driven organization 
• Effective communicators with the ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment 
• Open to feedback and committed to continuous learning and improvement 
• Motivated by real-world problem solving and eager to contribute innovative ideas 

Certification nice to haves:

• AWS/Azure Certified Developer
• AWS/Azure SysOps Administrator or equivalent
• Scrum Master
• B.S. Computer Science/Engineering or related fields
