Senior UX Researcher

Description -

We are looking for a senior user-experience (UX) researcher to expand our design team, someone with a passion for creative and dynamic insights to help us make an ever-more engaging and useful product.  You will be our gateway to a deeper understanding of our customers with an emphasis on remote coordination of users and in-person research projects, translating research insights into actionable recommendations, and communicating findings to the team.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitating UX and usability studies with remote research tools (UserZoom, UserTesting, etc.)

  • Educating teammates and stakeholders on UX research methodologies

  • Crafting and leading UX research using both qualitative and quantitative research methods and analyses that inform product design and strategy.

  • Leading research initiatives to identify meaningful and actionable user-centered insights to help the team deliver industry-leading user experiences

  • Working closely with product and customer teams to identify relevant research questions

  • Discovering and understanding user behavior, motivations, and needs to help teams shape concepts, products, and solutions

  • Creating discussion guides and leading open-ended, contextual conversations to help generate answers to crucial questions

  • Interviewing internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements

  • Understanding product roadmaps and planning long-term and short-term research initiatives to inform design decisions

  • Designing studies that address both user behavior and attitudes

  • Providing actionable insights to inform product design, fuel ideation and evaluate designs

  • Collaborating with the Product Experience Team on the development of design deliverables, e.g., user archetypes, journey maps, user flows, prototypes, and metrics

  • Carrying out extensive competitive analysis showing the value of different approaches and their pluses and minuses 

  • Utilizing ideation and storytelling skills to effectively communicate research insights and ideas with colleagues, management, and external parties both in the U.S. and other countries

  • Promoting best practices for user research, by remaining up to date on recent improvements in fields of user experience, user research, and product design

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in the study of user experience, design, research, or related fields; for example, User Experience Research or Design, Behavioral Science, Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field or equivalent industry experience.

  • 5+ years of work experience in conducting user research and usability testing and translating research outcomes into actionable insights using a variety of usability methods for both remote and in-person research, including card sorting, heuristic evaluation (formal and informal), cognitive walkthroughs, participatory design / co-creation workshops

Knowledge and Skills

  • Portfolio demonstrating UX research, conceptual thinking, creative problem solving, and deliverables (e.g., study plans, reports, and data visualization).

  • Team player with an ability to build relationships among peers and across departments

  • Ability to ask, as well as answer, meaningful and impactful questions

  • Able to give and receive critical feedback

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, and international multidisciplinary team environment

  • Strong presentation and interpersonal communication skills

  • Experience with various types of analysis techniques (e.g., synthesizing data, affinity diagrams, statistics, classification, clustering, etc.)
