Summary:

In this role, you will serve as a category expert for an assigned portfolio of contracts for diagnostic imaging products for internal and external stakeholders. You will contribute to all aspects of supply chain strategic sourcing processes including market opportunity identification, strategy and RFP development, negotiations, marketing, and implementation. You will oversee competitive contract portfolios by driving the strategy and development of the agreements to help providers elevate supply cost performance and achieve operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee moderate to high complexity portfolio of contracts for diagnostic imaging equipment with respect to visibility, utilization, and legal matters. (e.g., Spend, risk, strategic supplier involvement, and provider interest).

  • Develop a deep understanding of the products, suppliers, and industry trends that impact the portfolio through market research, attendance at industry events, and continuous learning opportunities.

  • Provide expertise within spend categories managed to providers, suppliers, Vizient field teams, advisory solutions, legal, finance, and other internal and external stakeholders.

  • Build a strategic approach to negotiation plans, market strategies, and implementation of agreements.

  • Develop RFP strategy, manage the bid process by negotiating favorable terms, and manage spend categories within the developed framework to deliver unique value to all clients. (e.g., Providers and Suppliers).

  • Formulate category strategy through financial analysis, evaluating new technology, monitoring healthcare industry trends, and utilizing database resources.

  • Lead periodic business reviews and strategic planning meetings with supply partners for moderate to high complexity portfolio.

  • Partner with Vizient suppliers and providers to increase engagement and develop initiatives. (e.g., own the supplier relationship).

  • Identify and fill gaps in the portfolio with suppliers not on national agreement by presenting the value Vizient can bring to their organizations, where applicable.

  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and revenue plans to measure contract performance against category objectives.

  • Create category specific collateral to share insights, expertise, and best practices with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., Tech Watch, blogs, category insights, industry magazines).

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred. Advanced degree in Healthcare Administration or Supply Chain preferred.

  • 5 or more years of relevant experience required.

  • Strategic sourcing or category management experience in a healthcare environment preferred.

  • Clinical experience in diagnostic imaging / radiology or certification as a radiology technologist preferred.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) required.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to tailor based on intended audiences required. (e.g., C-Suite / Executive Audiences, internal / external stakeholders, clients, and suppliers).

  • Demonstrated ability for building trusted relationships with supplier and provider partners.

  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports, legal contracts, and documents.

  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, high-pressure, and results-oriented environment.

  • Ability to think strategically and creatively to solve complex business challenges.

  • Willingness to travel.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $88,900.00 to $146,700.00.
