Job Summary:
The Business Systems Analyst is a professional who serves as a vital link between an organization’s information technology capabilities and its business objectives. This role involves analyzing business processes, identifying areas for improvement, and designing systems to address these needs. The analyst works closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, document specifications, and ensure that the implemented technology solutions align with business strategies. They also support system integration, conduct user acceptance testing, and provide training to end-users. With a strong foundation in both business operations and IT, a Business Systems Analyst helps to drive efficiency and innovation within the company.
Responsibilities:

System Analysis and Design
• Conduct analysis and evaluation of business processes and systems
• Identify areas for improvement and develop solutions to streamline processes
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and define project scope
• Create technical specifications and design documents for system enhancements
• Ensure systems are aligned with business objectives and meet user needs

System Implementation and Integration
• Lead the implementation of new systems or system upgrades
• Coordinate with IT and external vendors to ensure smooth integration of systems
• Develop and execute test plans to ensure proper functionality and user acceptance
• Train users on new systems and provide ongoing support and troubleshooting
• Monitor and evaluate system performance and make necessary adjustments

Data Management and Reporting
• Develop and maintain data management processes and procedures
• Monitor data quality and integrity to ensure accurate reporting
• Create and run reports to provide insights and support decision making
• Identify and resolve data discrepancies and issues
• Recommend and implement data driven solutions for business challenges

Project Management
• Plan and manage projects related to system enhancements or implementations
• Develop project timelines, milestones, and budgets
• Communicate project updates and progress to stakeholders
• Identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact project delivery
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards

System Maintenance and Support
• Monitor and maintain system performance and availability
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and system errors
• Collaborate with IT and vendors to implement system upgrades and patches
• Provide ongoing support and training to users
• Document system processes, procedures, and changes.

Qualifications:
• A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field with at least 5 years experience or equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.
• Proficiency in data analysis and modeling tools such as SQL, Excel, and specialized software relevant to the business.
• Understanding of business process reengineering and requirements gathering techniques.
• Experience with ERP systems, CRM software, or other business management platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively liaise between stakeholders and technical teams.
• Familiarity with project management principles and the ability to oversee projects from conception to implementation.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and with cross functional teams.
