Commercial Banking Operations Senior Associate - NYC

The Senior Associate, Commercial Banking Operations is responsible for supporting all Back-Office related activities covering all aspects of their aligned product/business area to ensure the efficient delivery of all products and services to the Bank’s clients while developing and maintaining direct contact and good working relationships with existing clients and internal stakeholders.

Job Description

  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company's business units.
  • Aims to deliver superior service to clients by driving and optimizing the effectiveness and efficiency of people, processes, and technology which enhances financial performance, increases investment capacity, and manages risk.
  • Builds sustainable repeatable capabilities that support the delivery of the highest standards of service and execution.
  • Analyzes and reviews data tools, business processes, and operational standards to execute service delivery.
  • Evaluate and ensure that operations meet company objectives, business needs, service agreements, and relevant requirements.
  • Researches and monitors the external landscape to identify developments and translate them into operational implications for the company.
     

Essential Functions/Responsibility Statements:

  • Acts as Relationship Manager by offering value-added advice and guidance to customers and placing their needs at the forefront of all we do, setting world-class standards.
  • Targets acquisition of quality new customers and grows sustainable revenues from these relationships.
  • Structures credit facilities to ensure optimum balance between customer and Santander interests within the bounds of prudent banking.
  • Proactively develops effective strategies to manage new relationships by anticipating customer needs and providing superior quality services resulting in increased wallet share.
  • Keeps abreast of external factors influencing international and domestic business (i.e. economic, cultural, geographical, procedural, and regulatory requirements).
  • Increases profitability, and relationship depth while minimizing risk.
  • Works with product partners to assess customer needs and offer appropriate solutions.
  • Generates quality assets by using appropriate risk management tools, prices appropriately for risk, and ensures superior returns within risk appetite.
  • Builds a network of business introducers in the local professional and business community.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience: Business or equivalent degree. Req
     

Work Experience:

  • 9+ Years Experience managing commercial relationships. Req
     

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proven ability to identify and meet customer needs through a broad range of products and services.
  • Proven analytical ability, with experience in credit or relationship management.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to deliver customized/flexible solutions appropriate to customer needs.
  • Knowledge of Santander’s Commercial Banking products and services.
  • Motivational, budgeting, and project management experience preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of other banking products and the ability to apply that information to this role.
  • Expert knowledge of overall lending policies and procedures, credit analysis, underwriting, structuring, etc.
  • Excellent organizational, management, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to develop resolutions to complex problems that require the frequent use of creativity.
  • Solid judgment within broadly defined policies and practices.
  • Exhibit an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, and resourcefulness in decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Working knowledge in Commercial Banking.
  • Strong influence, relationship-building ability, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to expand client relationships and bank products.
  • Excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.

The base pay range for this position is posted below and represents the annualized salary range. For hourly positions (non-exempt), the annual range is based on a 40-hour work week. The exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications and location.

Base Pay Range

Minimum:

$92,250.00 USD

Maximum:

$140,000.00 USD
