Logan Health is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Anesthesia Technician to provide vital technical support in the operating room (OR) and procedural areas. This role is pivotal in ensuring that anesthesia equipment, supplies, and patient preparation meet the highest standards of care.

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate closely with Anesthesiologists and Anesthesia Nurses to provide seamless support during procedures.

  • Set up, operate, and maintain anesthesia equipment to ensure it meets departmental and safety standards.

  • Prepare patient care areas with necessary equipment and supplies based on procedural needs.

  • Monitor and manage inventory, ensuring par levels are maintained and supplies are current.

  • Conduct routine maintenance, calibration, and safety checks on anesthesia machines and equipment.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).

Qualifications:

  • At least one (1) year of experience in a healthcare setting.

  • Certification as a graduate from a CAAHEP Anesthesia Technician program is preferred.

  • Experience in medical equipment maintenance and supplies is a plus.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with electronic medical record systems (e.g., Meditech) is preferred.

  • Current RQI Provider CPR certification or the ability to obtain it within 90 days of hire.

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to teamwork and confidentiality.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn other software as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Post high school education or vocational training in healthcare required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Graduate from a CAAHEP Anesthesia tech program with certification preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in medical equipment maintenance and medical equipment supplies preferred.
  • Current RQI Provider CPR preferred or must successfully obtain within ninety (90) days of hire.
  • Knowledge and understanding of medical terminology preferred. Possess and maintain computer skills and ability to learn software as needed. Meditech and electronic medical record (EMR) knowledge preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills, detail-oriented, a self-starter, possess critical thinking skills and be able to set priorities and function as part of a team as well as independently.
  • Commitment to working in a team environment and maintaining confidentiality as needed.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively with various audiences
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy. 
  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed.

Job Duties:

  • Provides support to the Anesthesiologist and Anesthesia Nurse and assists in patient care needs.  Inputs patient information into the electronic medical record (EMR).  Communicates consistently with Anesthesia and Anesthesia Nurses to share information and needs.
  • Appropriately stocks the assigned area(s). Exhibits knowledge of staffing standards and a demonstrated commitment to cost containment with all resources.  Ensures par levels are monitored, performs outdate checks, and inventory as specified by department protocol. 
  • Operates and maintains equipment to departmental standards.  Maintains organizational standards of care.  Calibrates and performs pre-anesthesia safety checks on anesthesia machines in assigned unit(s) and documents accordingly.
  • Assesses patient and Anesthesiologist’s needs.  Prepares necessary anesthesia equipment for cases per anesthesiologists’ preference, case type of specific patient needs and acuity.  Sets up cell saver as requested. Ensures equipment is in the room, properly set up, and running.
  • Performs care and control of all anesthesia supplies and equipment as outlined in policy and department procedures.  Ensures anesthesia equipment and accessories are kept in good repair, turned over as needed, daily cleaning, weekly breakdown and repairs/maintenance. Reports malfunctioning equipment to leadership as directed.
  • Responsible for setting up rooms for Anesthesia and restock of the machine and cart per department procedures. 
  • Completes and demonstrates required competency/currency in assigned unit(s).  Complies with and maintains regulatory compliance requirements as defined for the unit(s) and according to organizational standards.

Schedule:

Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week.  Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
