We are looking for problem solvers to help us build next-generation features, products, and services. You will work closely with a cross-functional team of engineers on microservices and event-driven architectures. You are expected to contribute to the architecture, design, and development of new features, identify technical risks, and find alternate solutions to various problems. In addition, the role also demands leading, motivate & mentor other team members with respect to technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and maintenance of backend APIs using Python, Django, and Django REST Framework (DRF) under the guidance of senior engineers.

• Contribute to scalable database solutions using MySQL, MongoDB, and other relational/NoSQL databases.

• Write and optimize basic ORM and SQL queries with support from the team.

• Support development of user-facing elements using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Bootstrap, and Django templates.

• Follow coding standards and use tools like Pylint and Flake8 to ensure clean, maintainable code.

• Participate in code reviews as a reviewer and learner.

• Collaborate with the team on deployments using Git, GitHub, and CI/CD tools like Jenkins.

• Support deployments on AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda) with team involvement.

• Contribute to API documentation using tools such as Swagger or Postman.

• Participate in automation initiatives and team-wide learning activities.

What We’re Looking For:

• 1–3 years of experience in software development, ideally with Python and Django/DRF.

• Basic understanding of building and consuming RESTful APIs.

• Familiarity with SQL (MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.

• Good foundational knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and performance principles.

• Exposure to AWS cloud services and interest in cloud-based deployments.

• Understanding of version control using Git and experience in collaborative codebases.

• A problem-solving mindset, curiosity, and eagerness to learn from others.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to collaborate across teams.

• Proactively seek feedback and continuously improve based on team mentorship and best practices.

• Familiarity with web scraping tools and API integration is a plus.

• Monotype is expanding globally. Proficiency in one or more of the following languages is desirable (not mandatory) for this role: German, Japanese, French, Spanish.
