Home Building Team Member – Tractor Driver

The Home Building Group is actively searching for a Home Building Team Member/Tractor Driver for our Wakarusa I home building facility in Wakarusa, IN.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Home Building Team Members perform the manufacturing production operations assigned to their team in the home building process. The position follows standard production methods and practices safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible. This position specifically is to drive a tractor pulling the Manufactured Homes out of the Manufacturing plant and staging them in the outside lot. Additionally, the Tractor Driver will be responsible for moving the homes around for Driver pick-up as well as bringing frames from the Frame Shop to the Manufacturing Plant.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Safety: Practice safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible while observing all relevant OSHA regulations.

Productivity: Work in a team environment to move Manufactured homes from the Production line to the outside staging area operating a tractor to pull them. Additional responsibilities include picking up frames from the Frame Shop and delivering them to the Manufacturing Plant. This person is also responsible for moving manufactured homes around for Driver pick-up.

Stewardship: Serve as a good steward of our company’s physical assets, protecting them from damage and misuse, reporting all needed maintenance, keeping your assigned area clean, and orderly.

Planning:  Assist your Team Leader and Area Coordinator to plan and organize the manufacturing activities in your area by communicating anticipated material shortages, identifying required tool maintenance, and communicating any quality and productivity issues. 

Attendance:   Meet all attendance requirements, available for start of shift at required time, following the attendance rules and regulations of the division.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have experience in driving trucks/tractors and the ability to back the homes into spaces. (Experience driving Semi’s helpful)
  • Must be able to walk, climb, and lift at least 50lbs, as well as other physical duties as needed.
  • You must be able to communicate efficiently and clearly with other Team Members.
  • Ability to work outside.

COMPENSATION

  • This position is full time and has a base pay of $20.00 an hour. Additionally, this position is bonus eligible which averages $550-$650 weekly on top of the hourly rate of pay.
