About team:

Team is looking for a strong Senior Data Engineer  who will drive building next generation Walmart suite of products and platform by designing, coding, building and deploying highly scalable and robust cloud based solutions. The role is expected to make a difference to the product in terms of the design and contribute towards identifying technical risks and find alternate solutions to various problems. In addition to that, the role also demands to lead, motivate, mentor and provide ample guidance to the other team members with respect to technical challenges.

This position is for EDF . EDF(Event Driven Fulfilment) is being built on a modernising platform which optimise overall Fulfilment process for Walmart and SAMs.

What you'll do:

  • As a lead for the team you will be expected to design, build, test and deploy cutting edge solutions at scale, impacting millions of customers worldwide.
  • ·      You will need to exhibit strong leadership and communication skills to collaborate with product, engineering and management across different geographic locations
  • ·      Create and recommend solution design options factoring in requirements, standards and current Infrastructure environment. Communicate and present solutions to the other stakeholders
  • Guide and mentor others members in the team to promote highly technical and self-sufficient teams.

What you'll bring:

·      Bachelors degree in computer science or related discipline with 6 to 10 years of core software product development experience.

  • Proficient in real time ; batch pipelines in big data technologies (i.e. Spark/Kafka/Cassandra/Hadoop/Elasticsearch, NoSql Dbs etc.)
  • Proficiency in languages such as Python, Scala, Java.
  • Experience with the workflow management platform like Airflow/hudi.
  • Experience with Cloud computing platforms like GCP and Azure.
  • Proficient with Designing and building APIs
  • Hands on Experience with PL/SQL to query data ; generate insights using complex queries, stored procedures, and user defined functions.
  • Security, API Gateway.
  • Familiarity with Engineering practices in Analytics space using tools like PowerBi, Tableau.
  • Experience with data modelling ; data migration protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Release ; Deployment , CI/CD
  • Code/ Design reviews
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Lead the discovery phase of medium to large projects to come up with high-level design.
