Job Summary 

As a Senior Database Administrator (20694), you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient software applications. Your role will involve leading technical projects, mentoring junior engineers, and continuously improving software development practices to ensure the delivery of robust and reliable software systems.  

Responsibilities and Duties 

• Lead SQL Server upgrade and migration initiatives, including compatibility-level transitions and rollout planning
• Perform database administration and engineering tasks to ensure performance, reliability, and scalability
• Identify and remediate issues in stored procedures, scripts, jobs, and query performance
• Collaborate closely with DB, QA, DevOps, and engineering teams to support deployments and ensure smooth migrations

Qualifications and Skills 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator with strong focus on SQL Server
• Hands-on experience with SQL Server upgrades, migrations, and compatibility-level transitions
• Strong expertise in SQL, performance tuning, and query optimization
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving issues in stored procedures, scripts, and scheduled jobs
• Experience working with database monitoring, backup, and recovery strategies
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and collaboration with QA and engineering teams
• Experience working in production environments with high availability and performance requirements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in complex database environments
• Effective communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
