Project Description:

• The path to Xcel Energy’s path to 100% carbon-free electricity by 2050 includes investment  in our Distribution infrastructure. The Company is making investments to modernize the grid to maintain reliability, resiliency and affordability on its system. 

• As an intern you will work with engineering and business staff to support the facilitation of capital projects on the distribution system.  The roles include supporting the five-year budget forecasting process, projecting monthly forecasts and comparing these projects against actuals.  

• An internship in Investment Delivery will provide real life knowledge of how Xcel Energy manages distribution planning and operation related to its capital investments on the distribution system. Interns will learn more about budgeting, forecasting and electric operations.

Minimum Requirements:

• Enrolled in programs focused on Science, Technology, or Mathematics, such as computer engineering, computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, accounting, data science, drafting, gas design, electric design, project management, construction management, and similar.

• Must be able to work part time during the school year and full-time during the summer. 

• Must be a sophomore and above.

• Must be able to commute to service center/offices listed.

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $18.40 to $27.20 per hour

This position is eligible for the following benefits: Pension, 401(k) plan, Paid time off (PTO), Holidays
