Logistics/Spares Analyst II

Job Description

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
Plans and coordinates spare parts inventory within customer service. Responsibilities include material expediting, movement, transactions and inventory control. Evaluates customer support and field service commitments to ensure customer requirements are met. Develops and implements control systems to move inventory in a timely and cost effective manner. Negotiates with production and OEM vendors for delivery of forecast parts. Maintains spare parts lists and analyzes and effects disposition of surplus, scrap and obsolete inventory for assigned products. Resolves inventory discrepancies. May prepare monthly reports as requested by management.


CAREER LEVEL:
Works under limited supervision on assignments that require a comprehensive knowledge of the discipline. May be responsible for a business activity, or lead small projects, assume several components of a larger project or program, or complex portion of a large project/program. May assist and/or provide limited supervision to more junior staff members. Broad application of principles, theories, concepts, and techniques used in the applicable technical or business discipline and working knowledge of interrelated fields. Develops resolutions to diverse and complex problems very often requiring creativity. Exercises judgment using generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for arriving at solutions. Frequent inter-organizational and external customer contacts. May represent the organization on projects and interface with customers. Impact of errors may have implications requiring significant expenditure of resources to correct and/or achieve project goals. Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years’ experience, or Masters with 2+ years’, or its equivalent.
