About the role:

The Entry-Level Machine Operator must be capable of setting up the injection molding machine to provide a quality product in a timely and efficient manner. This position requires some knowledge of the injection molding processes and procedures as well as promotes a safe work environment.

Additional Information: 

  • Relocation assistance is NOT available for this position.

  • Starting Pay: $25.55, additional based on experience
  • Schedule: Currently Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, schedule may change to 2nd shift if needed. 24/7 on call required, possible weekends
  • Overtime based on business need
  • No experience is required, training will be provided
     

What you will do:

  • Set up and operate the injection molding machine 
  • Identify sucker rod grades, mold, guide style and material being used as per the work order 
  • Ensure good quality of the rod guides by cleaning the flashing and painting the specific part of the sucker rods with inhibitor 
  • Maintain accurate records related to the activity of the shift 
  • Confers with technical personnel and managers/supervisors to report and resolve assembly and testing problems, and reports unresolved problems 
  • Feed resin to the injection molding machines, weigh and record the usage in the material usage form 
  • Inspect production and eliminate defective parts 
  • Clean and maintain the machine and surrounding areas at the end of the shift 
  • Perform routine maintenance of the equipment to maintain perfect functioning 
  • Respect the safety procedures and ensure proper use of PPE 
  • Performs other routine duties 
     

Physical Demands:

  • Frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear 
  • Required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds 
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus 
  • Must be able to wear protective footwear and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by the department 
     

Work Environment:

  • Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles 
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions 
  • Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places and vibration 
  • Noise Level: Moderate

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
