Full-time Accounting Clerk 30 – 40 hours/week
The Village Animal Clinic, a companion and exotic animal hospital located in Voorheesville NY, is seeking a full-time accounting clerk.
Responsibilities
The accounting clerk reports to the practice manager and is responsible for supporting the accuracy of financial information. Duties include:
Accounts Payable
Coordinate submission of invoices to accounts payable service center to ensure timely and accurate transactions
Collect and maintain vendor W-9s
Resolve vendor payment discrepancies or other concerns
Receive inventory into purchasing portal and perform quarterly physical inventory count
Reconcile monthly vendor statements
Accounts Receivable
Generate and mail monthly client statements
Process employee invoices
Coordinate collection of outstanding balances with collection agency
Weekly review of Accounts Receivable Aging Report
Payroll Processing
Process accurate bi-weekly payroll using Workday including approving timecards, calculate groomer commissions, and approve payroll register
Approve employee expense reimbursements
Banking
Reconcile daily credit card receipts
Prepare weekly bank deposits
Track petty cash disbursements
Prepare monthly cash log
General ledger coding for credit card charges
Financial Reporting
Provide Finance Department with month-end close reports to assist in preparation of various financial data
Analyze monthly Profit and Loss Statements and report any discrepancies to senior management and the financial team
Qualifications
Associate’s degree in accounting/finance with minimum of 3-5 years bookkeeping or similar accounting experience
Strong analytical skills
Proficiency in General Ledger and financial statement preparation
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Experience utilizing Workday Payroll Application a plus
Compensation and Benefits
Pay rate: $23- 25/hour depending upon experience level.
