Position summary:

This position performs professional and administrative duties related to payroll operations. This role administers and coordinates payroll processing, the payroll database, and related reports as necessary for employees. This role ensures organizational efficiency in the application of prescribed policies, procedures, and methods.  This position performs all other related work as required

Educational requirements:

Associate’s Degree in Business Administration or related field, Two to four (2 – 4) years of Payroll experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Certified Payroll Professional preferred.

Skills requirements:

Knowledge of payroll and accounting software. Workday payroll and JDE accounting experience preferred.

Ability to maintain effective working relationships with others.  Must be accurate, thorough and well organized in working with detailed information; takes initiative to assure timely compliance with deadlines and the resolution of pending matters.

Ability to maintain tact and discretion in challenging situations and interactions with employees. Ability to maintain confidential information and to respond quickly to unexpected project with short deadlines or changes in important procedures.

Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Strong communication skills; demonstrates a highly proficient use of computers, office automation, and other department specific computer applications.

Essential duties:

Process multi-state and multi-company payrolls in an accurate and timely manner. Receives, confirms and submits to in-tenant payroll processor all reported hours for employees.

Works directly with in-tenant payroll processor once submitted. Reviews final payroll adjustments and approves prior to settlement.

Research and resolve issues with tax jurisdictions.

Provides funding amounts to Treasury for employee payments, garnishments and taxes.

Perform weekly payroll audit with Payroll Manager to maintain accuracy of employee wages on a weekly basis.

Maintain and track employee deductions including 401k and court ordered garnishments.

Maintain employee records in Kronos and Workday.

Maintain employee files. Facilitate attorney requests for employee files.

Work with internal and external auditors as needed.

Solve daily payroll issues for employees.

Process weekly reports for cost accounting team.

Process monthly reports for manufacturing team.

Maintain housekeeping

Comply with safety rules

Comply with environmental regulations

Be aware of departmental Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)

Be willing to learn and understand Interface's commitment to sustainability

Perform other duties as assigned
