As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting our business plans, driving value, and partnering with various departments to enhance our commercial strategy. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the priorities and strategic direction of our business, influencing senior stakeholders and contributing to the growth of our residential portfolio.

Your Key daily accountabilities will be:

  • Undertaking commercial analysis on new and existing routes to market with the underlying purpose to grow the residential energy business, supporting the wider commercial team

  • Maintaining and improving existing commercial tool/models to enhance accuracy of business case modelling.

  • Owning the end-to-end Residential energy commercial planning process, bringing together a wide range of stakeholders to deliver a robust and effective plan.

  • Ownership of British Gas’ residential energy commission and spend budget for internal and external channels.

  • Develop a clear strategic narrative for Residential Energy that can be easily understood and communicated within the business to drive coherent planning and decision making.

The Person

We are looking for a candidate with expertise in developing and executing ambitious yet achievable commercial plans. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of sales techniques, proficiency in commercial business case modelling, Excel, and strong communication skills. While a university degree is preferred, equivalent analytical and commercial acumen will be considered. Experience in the energy industry is a plus.

Key skills:

  • Ability to develop and deliver ambitious and achievable commercial plans.

  • Understanding of sales organisation value drivers

  • Commercial know-how: managing for value and market understanding.
