About This Opportunity 

As a Student Central Ambassador, you'll be the first point of contact for students, providing guidance and connecting them with essential university resources. You'll also manage ID card inquiries and contribute to ongoing service improvement to ensure we meet the evolving needs of our students.

Key responsibilities will include: 

  • Serve as the first point of contact for UQ customers, offering compassionate support, advice, and assistance. Resolve inquiries or escalate to appropriate teams.

  • Adhere to privacy and legislative requirements. Assist with operational tasks, including space setup, equipment handling, and following established procedures.

  • Liaise with colleagues within Student Services and report any issues or improvement opportunities. Maintain effective communication and collaboration with the team.

  • Adapt to changes in procedures and personnel. Stay updated on relevant policies and procedures to provide accurate information and support.

  • Other duties as required in line with the HEW level.

All successful candidates will receive induction and training to work at UQ. Only current UQ students are eligible to apply.

About You  

Essential

  • Be currently enrolled at UQ with at least two semesters completed.

  • Have a strong understanding of UQ resources and support services available to students. Be available to work 6 hours per week between the standard operational hours of 07:30 – 17:30.

  • Demonstrate a passion for providing exceptional customer service to diverse students. Have experience in a customer service role and understand the challenges of transitioning to university.

  • Be a highly motivated team player with excellent interpersonal skills. Work effectively in a collaborative environment and be comfortable working outdoors and handling equipment.

Desirable 

  • Experience as a student leader/peer mentor/ambassador within your Faculty, School or other service unit within UQ e.g. Employability Centre, Student Services, Student Centre, UQ Union etc. 

You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment and may be required to complete background checks including, criminal history and education checks.
