Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Application Developer to join our project team. This role focuses on designing, developing, and configuring applications that align with business processes and meet functional requirements. Key Skills • Essential: Thunderhead/Smartcomm • Preferred: XML-related technologies, JavaScript Qualifications & Experience • Minimum Experience: 5 years working with Thunderhead/Smartcomm • Education: 15 years of full-time formal education Role Summary As an Application Developer, you will be responsible for crafting robust application solutions tailored to business needs. Your day-to-day will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, building scalable and high-performance applications, and enhancing existing systems. You’ll also ensure adherence to development best practices and organizational standards while delivering user-centric solutions. Responsibilities • Design and implement advanced document templates and layouts using Smartcomm modules such as Advanced Template Designer and Data Modeler • Maintain and optimize scripts to support efficient document workflows and system performance • Configure and manage Data Models, Content Rules, and Layout Mappings • Ensure optimal performance and compliance in document generation and rendering • Partner with stakeholders to deliver accurate, compliant, and intuitive document solutions for the retirement industry • Diagnose and resolve issues related to template design, data integration, and system configurations • Work seamlessly across both desktop and web versions of Smartcomm Professional & Technical Expertise • Proficiency in Thunderhead/Smartcomm (mandatory) • Working knowledge of XML technologies and JavaScript (preferred) • Strong grasp of application development methodologies • Experience in scripting and automation • Familiarity with data modeling concepts
