Job Description Qualifications:

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is currently seeking an Associate or Experienced Fabrication Specialist (Level A or B) in Orangeburg, South Carolina on Variable Shift!

Primary Responsibilities:   

  • Performs machine set-up, machining, welding set-up, welding, sheet metal fabrication and extrusion, tube bending and fabrication tasks.

  • Performs composite lay-up, fabrication and assembly tasks.

  • Assembles precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components.

  • Assembles, repairs, modifies and installs various power plants and drive trains.

  • Perform soldering on electronic and avionics products.

  • Assembles and installs wire harnesses and avionics products.

  • Prepares test articles, fixtures and data collection devices to perform various tests.

  • Performs basic organic chemical conversion and paint preparation.

  • Applies routine organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements.

  • Works on articles of moderate complexity using established drawings and requirements.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Must be willing and able to variable shift.

  • Able to lift up to 35 lbs; Frequent lifting up to 10 lbs; Occasional carrying, lifting, pushing/pulling, walking, standing, balancing; Frequent reaching overhead and at or above shoulder; Frequent sitting; Frequent climbing

  • 6+ months of Aerospace, Fabrication, or Manufacturing experience

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 1 year of experience with Lean Principles (Continuous Improvement, Standard Work, and 5-S tools)

  • 1 year of experience leading any of the following: staff, teams, production, or quality system initiatives

  • 1 year of experience with managing or working to safety, quality, and manufacturing performance data

  • 1 year of experience reading established engineering drawings and specifications 

  • 1 year of experience with sanding, taping, mixing material, the application of paint 

  • 1 year of experience in aerospace or automotive paint application, paints & coatings, and/or inorganic chemical processes 

Typical Education/Experience:

Associate (Level A): Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. high school diploma/GED).

Experienced (Level B): Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate).

Summary pay associate (level A): $45,000

Summary pay range: $59,220 - $60,480
