Position Summary

Under general direction, formulates and defines system scope and
objectives. Devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems
considering equipment capacity and limitations, operating time
and desired results. Prepares detailed technical specifications from
which programs will be written. Designs, codes, tests, debugs, and
documents those programs.
Competent to work at the highest technical
level of all phases of applications systems analysis and programming
activities. Regularly provides guidance and training to less-experienced
programmer/analysts.

Independently designs and/or codes and may lead others in the
development of cost effective application and program solutions
.

  • Leads as technical contributor to translation of business requirements to technical specifications. Independently performs and assists other team members in providing ongoing system maintenance, research, problem resolution and on-call support tasks for existing systems.
  • May perform or assist with integration and system testing, according to detailed test plans to ensure high-quality systems.
  • Supports the implementation of systems into production. Responsible for Code Asset Management for an application or set of applications.
  • Lead as a subject matter expert for projects and/or service requests impacting an application or set of applications.
  • Serves as team leader to direct technical activities, while also providing support for small and large highly complex projects that require increased skill across multiple technical environments and disciplines.
  •  Receives supervision and direction as regards prioritization of work but is competent to work independently and to offer direction and oversight to assigned team.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years hands on experience on the full software development lifecycle
  • Expertise in developing Object Oriented, Web-based, Cloud-based, Relational Database and Client-Server software products and applications
  • Expertise in Agile and SAFe methodologies, best practices, and policy execution

  • Expert level hands on experience in following areas:

  • IDEs: Visual Studio Code, IntelliJ, Eclipse
  • Version Control Tools: Git, GitHub, GitLab
  • Operating Systems: Windows 10/11, Linux
  • API: API Connect, Kong
  • Security: OAuth, OpenID, JWT, SAML, TLS
  • Cloud Platforms: Microsoft Azure (OpenShift, Azure Kubernetes Service, Azure App Service)
  • Databases: PostgreSQL, MSSQL, Mongo
  • Database Tools: SQL Developer, Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS)
  • Build and CI/CD Tools: Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, GitHub Actions
  • Other Skills: Agile Methodologies, Team Leadership, Communication, Problem Solving, Collaboration


Education

  • B.S. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent job experience
  • Masters degree preferred

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$92,700.00 - $185,400.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
