As an Integrated Power Center Operator, you will play a critical role in keeping the electric system operating safely and reliably around the clock. You will monitor system conditions across the transmission and distribution network, watching how power flows and responding as conditions change. Using modern monitoring and control tools, you will identify potential issues, respond to alarms, and make real‑time adjustments to maintain system balance and reliability. During system events or outages, you will make timely decisions, reroute power as needed, follow emergency procedures, and communicate effectively with stakeholders to minimize impact.

Responsibilities/Expectations:

  • Monitors system demand, load conditions, and asset performance in real time and operates equipment in accordance with approved procedures to ensure safe, reliable, and continuous generation operations
  • Coordinates with local operators and field personnel to align control room actions with on‑site activities, maintenance, and operational priorities, using system data and trends to support timely decisions
  • Partners with Commercial, Scheduling, and Optimization teams to support operational decisions that balance reliability, efficiency, and commercial objectives while maintaining compliance
  • Analyzes load forecasts, performance metrics, and operating constraints to assess system conditions and respond effectively to changing demands
  • Responds to alarms and abnormal conditions, evaluates system impacts, and implements corrective actions to maintain system reliability and service continuity
  • Communicates system status, outage conditions, and restoration updates to customers and stakeholders in a clear and timely manner

Education/Years of Experience:

  • Required: High school diploma/GED; a minimum of two (2) years' experience in relevant industry or control room environment
  • Preferred: Associate degree or two-year technical degree and two (2) years’ experience in power plant, water or electricity operations; including control room or similar operating experience
  • Preferred: NERC (North American Electric Reliability Corporation) System Operator Certification

Other Requirements:

  • Operates and monitors power generation and electrical equipment in real time using SCADA, EMS, DCS, or similar systems, adjusting parameters as needed to maintain safe, reliable, and efficient operations across multiple assets
  • Coordinates control room activities with on‑site operators and field personnel to align operational actions with maintenance activities and operational priorities
  • Preferred: Knowledge of power system operations, emergency procedures, and reliability standards in a multi‑asset, centralized operations environment
