Currently, we are looking for experienced candidates for the position of Finance Controlling Specialist in Close & Control Team. If you are interested in the role – apply and join our GSK Finance Hub – Europe!

How you will contribute to our success:  

  • You will be responsible for a small commercial entity in Europe, excelling in finance and learning about the local market as well as overall biopharma business

  • Your core goal will be to deliver a timely period end close (including analytical reviews) and ensure full compliance with IFRS and SOX requirements

  • On a monthly basis you will present and discuss the full entity results with local Finance Director (your key stakeholder)

  • Your activities will include analysis of accounts, preparation & review of journals, preforming a set of internal control activities, etc.

  • You will collaborate with broader financial team, including Planning and Forecasting Analysts, Regional Controllers and GSK Operations Centre (delivering transactional accounting)

  • You will be reviewing high risk account reconciliations prepared by GSK Operations Centre, driving quality and resolution of open items, assessing balance sheet health and addressing risks

  • You will collaborate with external provider to ensure local statutory reporting and tax filings are submitted on time and materially correct, providing limited input, sense-checks and monitoring

  • You will assist in resolving queries or issues as well as support annual audit process

  • You will be reviewing financial data pack as an input for group consolidation and resolving related queries

Why You?

Basic qualifications:

  • Master degree in Finance

  • 3+ years of overall combined accounting/audit and/or financial controlling experience

  • Thorough understanding of key accounting principles

  • Master’s degree in Finance/Accounting or relevant successful professional experience equivalent

  • Savvy in data-driven environment

  • Fluent English for Business/Finance/Accounting (daily use at work)

  • Proven continuous learning mindset

  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders based in different countries

Preferred:

  • Experience in cooperation with senior stakeholders and data presentation

  • Good understanding of financial and reporting systems and data flow

  • Prooven collaboration with auditors

  • Mixed experience in audit (2+ years) and business environment (2+ years)

  • Accounting qualifications (CIMA, ACCA, KIBR) part-qualified or completed

  • Experience and expertise in IFRS

  • Fluent user of SAP FI/FC and BI, Lumira, PowerBI or similar analytical solutions
