Job Summary
Collaborates with interdisciplinary team in the delivery of patient care, utilizing the nursing process. Provides professional nursing care to patients, conducts nursing assessments, assists with exams and treatment, patient education, and maintenance of medical records. MHHS hires RNs based on years of experience groupings (i.e. newly licensed RN [working under the supervision of RN clinical preceptor], less than 1 year, 1-3 years, 3 to 10 and 10+).Come join the team at the Greater Heights Observation Unit. Located near the loop, the team receives a variety of patient conditions and has a close relationship with the fire department which keeps the hospital busy. We are seeking an experienced RN with a passion for serving the Houston community and would love to hear from you! This team works hard together to ensure quality patient care and outcomes, and in 2024 was recognized with the PRISM award. The PRISM Award, presented by the Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses (AMSN), recognizes medical-surgical units that demonstrate exemplary patient care, leadership, and a positive work environment.
Ideal candidate: 2+ years of acute care experience, preferably in OBS, Float or ER with BLS.
Shift: Nights, 12 hours (rotating weekends are expected)
