Risk Management is an independent function within CommBank which is accountable for providing approval and acceptance of decisions to ensure the Group remains within its risk appetite.
The Technology and Operations (Tech & Ops) Risk team is responsible for providing specialist Operational Risk and Compliance (OR&C) advice, assurance and acceptance/approval of decisions made across the Technology, COO and Supplier Support Units.

As part of the Analytics team, we are of strategic importance to the Tech & Ops Risk Management team. We are responsible for leveraging data analytics to enhance and expand tech risk processes to provide greater assurance for the Bank’s Technology organisation. To achieve this, we utilise a broad range of analytical tools including Python, Teradata SQL, and other specialised tools.
In this role
As a Senior Manager, Data Analytics you will be a member of a team of technology risk professionals that provides Operational Risk & Compliance Support to the Technology and Security divisions.
Key responsibilities for this role include:
Perform high quality, risk-focused analytics providing management with powerful insights for improving the control environment in line with Technology’s strategic objectives
Assist the Tech & Ops Risk Management team in becoming more efficient and effective, in both executing assurance reviews, and quarterly planning, through the use of analytics and continuous assurance
Work closely with the Tech & Ops Risk Management team and stakeholders to understand the risk and control environment in Technology
Solve complex analytical problems by applying innovative and resourceful thinking
We’re interested in hearing from people who have:
Established experience in Analytics preferable in Risk and Technology
Working knowledge of technology processes, risks and controls across domains such as cloud, DevSecOps, operational resilience, Artificial Intelligence
Solid experience in R, Python and SQL for data wrangling, analysis, and modelling
Strong expertise Data Visualisation tools such as PowerBI and Tableau
Excellent written and spoken communications skills with strong influencing and interpersonal abilities
Strong attention to detail
