DEFINITION:
Under the direction of the Oklahoma State Based Exchange (Exchange) Executive Director, the Marketing Director is responsible for planning and overseeing all internal and external communications for the Health Insurance Marketplace, including program messaging, press releases, website content, public outreach, and marketing materials. The role also partners with OID’s Communications Division to ensure alignment with OID’s overall messaging strategy. This individual will report to the Executive Director. They will work closely with other Health Insurance Marketplace teams, external partners, and OID to plan marketing and public relations (PR) campaigns and digital content.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and at least 4 years of professional experience. Master's degree in a relevant field may be substituted for 2 years of experience. A strong background in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field. Experience managing complex programs involving multiple stakeholders and/or vendors. Experience developing and executing communications and marketing strategies for diverse audiences. Ability to create clear, compelling content for a range of channels. Experience supporting outreach, engagement, and awareness-building campaigns.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Understanding the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and the individual health insurance market, including federal and state health insurance policies, programs, and stakeholders. Experience working in healthcare insurance, public health, and/or healthcare programs. Experience managing communications, marketing, and/or public relations for a government agency. Familiarity with current digital and print communications trends, tools, and practices.
NOTE:

The selected applicant must pass a background check. Individual may be required to pursue NAIC designations as job duties require.
