The hiring range for this role is:  

$80,000.00 - $120,000.00

The Applied Analytics and Data Integrity Specialist will ensure high data quality standards and apply analytical skills to drive actionable insights. The specialist will work closely with business, IT, and data engineering teams to improve data accuracy, consistency, and accessibility, supporting both operational and strategic decision-making.

Primary Job Functions

  • Data Quality Assurance and Improvement: Monitor, assess, and ensure the quality, accuracy, and consistency of data across systems and databases. Develop and implement data quality policies, procedures, and metrics, establishing standards for data validation, cleansing, and enrichment.  Perform root-cause analysis to identify data quality issues and work with relevant teams to resolve and prevent recurring issues.

  • Applied Analytics: Conduct advanced data analysis to extract insights that drive business decisions, working closely with analytics, finance, and operations teams. Design, build, and maintain analytical models and reports to support business functions and objectives. Provide actionable recommendations based on data insights to improve processes, enhance efficiency, and support growth.

  • Data Governance and Collaboration: Partner with data governance teams to align data quality initiatives with governance policies and best practices. Collaborate with data engineers, database administrators, and business analysts to ensure seamless data integration, transformation, and accessibility. Support the development of data dictionaries and data lineage documentation to improve data transparency and usability.

  • Data Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement to enhance data quality and reduce manual efforts. Establish and manage data quality scorecards and dashboards to communicate data health to stakeholders. Actively participate in data-related projects, offering expertise in data validation, process optimization, and analytics.

Education, Experience and Certification

Education

Required:

Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Finance, Business or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience; HS diploma or GED is required

Experience

Required:

At least 3 years data management, data analysis, and/or report development experience working in a data-intensive or regulated industry preferably with health plan claims data, metadata and/or conducting data quality monitoring. Experience working with data visualization tools and techniques. Experience with SAS, SPSS, SQL, Python, SXC or other data analysis languages/tool.

Preferred experience with data warehousing and ETL processes, along with a working knowledge of relational databases; PBM or healthcare experience; statistical and/or predictive modeling; enterprise level data warehouse experience; and project implementation experience.

  • Previous experience working with large data sets and using analytic tools

  • Intermediate troubleshooting skills and demonstrated ability to problem solve through complex situations

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively across teams and translating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders

  • Ability to establish rapport and effectively influence at all levels within an organization

  • Enhanced organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills – ability to create complete formulas and efficient data manipulation
