Title and Summary

Director, Consumer Marketing

Mastercard is seeking a senior marketing leader to drive the consumer marketing agenda for Malaysia, one of Southeast Asia's most dynamic and digitally advanced markets. Reporting into the Southeast Asia West Marketing team, you will partner with country leadership to identify business priorities, develop marketing strategies and deliver impactful consumer and partner marketing programmes. This is a highly visible role that combines strategic thinking, commercial acumen and strong stakeholder influence. You will work closely with business teams, financial institution partners and agency partners to bring campaigns and sponsorship activations to life while strengthening Mastercard's brand and supporting business growth across the market.


Role

• Lead the development and execution of the Malaysia consumer marketing strategy, aligning marketing priorities with business objectives and market opportunities.
• Partner closely with country leadership, account management and cross-functional stakeholders to identify growth opportunities and deliver impactful marketing initiatives.
• Drive integrated consumer, digital, partnership and sponsorship marketing programmes that strengthen brand preference and support business growth.
• Oversee agency partners responsible for creative development, media planning, campaign execution and performance optimisation.
• Manage marketing investments and budgets, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support strategic priorities and measurable outcomes.
• Leverage Mastercard's global and local sponsorship assets to create market-relevant programmes that enhance customer engagement and cardholder value.
• Support issuer and partner marketing initiatives through the development of B2B2C campaigns and customer-facing marketing solutions.
• Represent the marketing function in customer discussions, strategic initiatives and cross-functional business projects.
• Evaluate campaign effectiveness and marketplace insights to continuously • improve marketing performance and decision-making.
• Contribute to broader Southeast Asia West marketing priorities and regional initiatives as required.


All About You

• Significant experience leading country, consumer or integrated marketing strategies within a large multinational organisation.
• Demonstrated ability to translate business priorities into marketing strategies that drive growth, engagement and brand preference.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience partnering closely with senior business leaders and cross-functional teams.
• Experience managing agency partners across strategy, creative development, media planning and campaign execution.
• Proven ability to balance strategic thinking with operational execution and programme delivery.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, including budget management and marketing investment optimisation.
• Experience contributing to customer, partner or issuer-facing marketing initiatives and managing multiple stakeholders.
• Payments, banking, fintech or broader financial services experience strongly preferred.
• Experience working within complex matrix organisations and navigating regional or multi-market environments.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the credibility and maturity to operate effectively
