Location:

  • Norman, OK or Wichita, KS

How you will do it

  • Overall management of new product launch by owning quality/Reliability activities through the entire new product development lifecycle 

  • Work closely with cross-organizational teams (R&D, Operations, Finance, IT, Services, Customer Experience, etc.) to identify issues and opportunities in the new product development process and to translate customer needs into product functional requirements and specifications

  • Provide quality oversight and guidance to project teams by assuring that Reliability/Quality Engineering principles are utilized to develop and enhance products that are robust, safe, and effective

  • Ensure driving all proactive steps to mitigate risks associated with new product launch by identifying -critical to quality- (CtQ) user need requirements on products design, manufacturing and test processes and driving quality control mitigation strategies

  • Champion APQP principles and work to create methods and systems to improve risk mitigation strategies and product quality

  • Champion and participate in the running and creation of DFMEA/PFMEA/Control Plan activities to eliminate or reduce product risk 

  • Provide direction and approval for critical reviews for Design Inputs, Design verification and Validation, Technical and Design Reviews, manufacturing readiness and Risk Management

  • Analyze, draw conclusions, report and present product information utilizing statistical techniques

  • Lead Risk Assessments (Design and Manufacturing) for NPD projects during the product development cycle

  • Verify, assess, and approve new product testing plan including function/reliability and field trial against related standards and policies 

  • Sign and approve each gate of the new product development including product release Coordinate with other quality functions and reports out products risk during phase gates

  • Travel 10% (minimum)

What we look for
Required

  • BS or MS in mechanical engineering, quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, or other technical discipline.

  • 5-8 years experience within reliability or quality engineering and new product development.

  • Ability to work/influence team across a matrix organization on courses of action with minimal assistance using both written and verbal methods

  • Effectively operate in and may facilitate cross-functional teams

  • Demonstrated ability to utilize: Six Sigma tools (FMEAs, Gauge R&R, Capability Analysis, Statistical Process Control), Design of Experiments, life data analysis and statistical tools (Minitab, Reliasoft Weibull++,JPM, etc.).

  • Relentless curiosity and a desire to learn and implement new solutions with Strong technical expertise.

  • Ability to communicate with multiple cultures/regions via videoconference, emails, and phone calls.

  • Candidate must exhibit a high-level of self-motivation, sense of urgency and comfortable making recommendations across broad teams.

  • Ability to Track multiple projects simultaneously to ensure adherence to schedule and the JCI process.

  • Open to occasional business travel (domestic and international)

Preferred

  • ASQ Certified CQE or CRE

  • Experience in accelerated life testing

  • Experience with a stage-gate product development process.

  • Lean/Six Sigma training, Green or Black Belt.

  • Familiarity with reading 2D part drawings and understanding GD&T, CAD software.

  • Experience with ISO 9001
