Collins Aerospace is seeking an Industrial Engineer to support manufacturing operations through process optimization, capacity planning, labor efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives. In this role, you will manage and maintain manufacturing process parameters within MES process routings, ensuring accurate planning data that supports production schedules, capacity, and inventory controls. You will identify process waste and opportunities to improve manufacturing flow, reduce scrap, enhance labor efficiency, and improve workstation ergonomics.

As an individual contributor, you will support the annual Standard Setting Process for Puerto Rico Operations and track the effectiveness of a diverse portfolio of more than 200 improvement initiatives. You will partner with Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams to improve productivity, efficiency, and overall manufacturing performance.

This onsite position is based at our Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

What You Will Do:

  • Review, revise, and maintain MES process routing parameters to ensure accurate manufacturing planning and scheduling.
  • Manage process parameters including run time, setup time, queue time, and scrap factors to support capacity and inventory controls.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes to identify waste, inefficiencies, and opportunities to improve product flow.
  • Support labor efficiency improvement initiatives through process analysis, standardization, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Lead and support the annual Standard Setting Process for Puerto Rico Operations.
  • Analyze production data, capacity requirements, and process performance to identify opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Support scrap reduction initiatives by identifying root causes and implementing process improvements.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other cross-functional teams to improve productivity and manufacturing performance.
  • Support workstation ergonomic improvements and other initiatives designed to improve safety, efficiency, and employee effectiveness.
  • Track, analyze, and report the effectiveness and progress of a portfolio of more than 200 improvement initiatives, providing metrics and updates to site leadership.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and less than 2 years of prior experience.
  • Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English and Spanish (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience with MES, ERP, SAP, or other manufacturing systems.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience with process routing, standard work, capacity planning, or manufacturing labor standards.
  • Experience analyzing manufacturing data and developing performance metrics.
  • Knowledge of process time studies, work measurement, and labor efficiency.
  • Experience supporting scrap reduction, production flow optimization, or workstation ergonomics initiatives.
  • Previous experience in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments is a plus.
