The Vice President, Data and AI Products will report to the SVP, Product and Chief Clinical Officer and is responsible for a range of data-related functions, including data strategy and governance, data science, actuarial science, business and client analytics, reporting, visualization, dashboarding, and artificial intelligence. You will define and prioritize our data & reporting roadmap, ensuring we are delivering actionable insights to both internal and external customers.

You will partner closely with a diverse team across clinical, engineering, product management, insights and user research, design, business and operational leaders to meet an array of data product needs. It's a fast paced and dynamic role offering the opportunity to work with varied data types to answer a wide range of important questions. You will drive structure, accountability, accuracy, predictability and consistency to our recurring and ad hoc reporting, as well as our internal business insights enabling us to continually improve our products and operations. Additionally, you will mentor and develop our application of advanced technologies including AI and LLMs to accelerate and scale our member interactions and business processes. 

  • Coach and develop the leaders and team members of data science, actuarial, analytics, and AI data teams to ensure growth of technical and leadership capabilities
  • Provide visionary leadership 
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Develop and execute data, analytic, reporting, and applied AI strategies aligned with company vision and business objectives
  • Identify and prioritize data trends and opportunities that will drive the company’s growth and competitive advantage
  • Collaborate with the executive leadership team to define and achieve key data metrics and objectives
  • Oversee the execution of analytic, reporting, business operations, data science and AI activities
  • Ensure best practices in data governance and AI deployment to optimize for metric consistency, analytic rigor, data integrity, and general reliability 
  • Partner with the data engineering and engineering AI teams to inform architecture and technology stack decisions
  • Serve as a key advisor and data evangelist within the company
  • Communicate strategy, vision, and resource needs effectively to internal stakeholders
  • Manage internal and external stakeholders to set priorities across a range of data needs
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external partners

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • 10+ years of advanced data science experience with 5+ years working specifically with healthcare data
  • 5+ years of people management experience with the ability to support, empower and develop a team 
  • Ability to go deep and dig into the data to understand limitations and opportunities and drive the data strategy
  • Experience driving data governance, implementation and strategy, along with strong communications and collaboration skills to drive change and awareness across the company
  • Proven track record of driving and managing advanced analytics through effective management of data teams, including applied AI in healthcare, predictive modeling, forecasting, and next best action recommendations. 
  • Experience “rolling up your sleeves” alongside team members to deeply understand opportunities to improve and innovate
  • Experience working with healthcare data including claims, utilization management, clinical and other data sources. 
  • Ability to represent Collective Health in client meetings as it relates to our value story and the data strategy that supports it
  • Experience in report automation, data validation, and efficient analytical reporting 
  • Ability to translate nontechnical data requests into logical queries and visualizations
  • Demonstrated ability to partner across teams in order to both understand customer and business needs, but also articulate the vision and strategy to meet our goals
  • Ability to apply judgment to prioritize asks and balance multiple stakeholders and priorities
  • Experience with complex data security environments

Pay Transparency Statement 

This is a hybrid position based out of one of our offices: San Francisco, CA, Plano, TX, or Lehi, UT. Hybrid employees are expected to be in the office three days per week (Plano, TX) or two days per week (all other locations). #LI-hybrid

The actual pay rate offered within the range will depend on factors including geographic location, qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to the salary, you will be eligible for stock options and benefits like health insurance, 401k, and paid time off.
