Job Responsibilities

As a Senior BIM Technician, you will setup, draft, convert, produce and edit MEP plans using AutoCAD and REVIT. This role will require excellent organizational skills, the ability communicate effectively and prioritize multiple project deadlines.  

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Manage Project file locations, filenames, layers and symbology per SH Group CAD/BIM standards
  • Assist with CAD/BIM coordination on projects
  • Be an integral member of the project design team, take the initiative and find ways to add value and take ownership of projects
  • Attend project kick-off meetings, work closely with the Project team to understand potential consequences to a project related to specific CAD/BIM requirements and requests made upon the project team
  • Supervise and/or mentor CAD/BIM technicians in their workflow of project setup and creation of floor-plans, one-line diagrams and panel schedule drawings in AutoCAD/BIM from redlined drawings
  • Evaluate project level workflow/skillset and communicate ideas for improvement of Syska CAD/BIM capabilities and processes
  • Work with Project design team and Project Manager to ensure the projects are meeting goals, deadlines, CAD/BIM expectations as well as identify areas of inefficiency and need
  • Troubleshoots questions and concerns of all involved in a project
  • Setup new projects of all types/sizes, drawings and models, for use by MEP engineers, prioritize tasks and communicate workflows with design team
  • Run quick clash/coordination checks on projects, promote value of coordination
  • Follow all documentation and standards requirements for projects and tracking of project data information as specified by the NBT and assist with local training of design team and workflow process

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD and MEP tools. You will need effective organizational skills, ability to prioritize workload, and be a team player with strong communication skills.

Additional requirements:

  • High School or completion of trade school or equivalent formal training
  • A minimum of 8 years of working experience with an AEC Firm in a CAD/BIM role or 3-4 years with a MEP firm
  • Demonstrated advanced and efficient skills with the latest versions of Revit and MEP workflow
  • Demonstrated advanced skills with AutoCAD and MEP tools
  • Proficient at working with drawings and understanding of red marks
  • Proficient in reading and understanding floor plans, sections and elevations
  • Proficient in the latest National CAD/BIM standards
  • Experience with manipulating and receiving various file formats
  • Extensive work experience with at least one:  Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing trades
  • Experience with MS Office Suite
  • Available to work necessary hours to meet project deadlines
