Job Description:

About the Role
The successful candidate for this role will work as a Grade 3 Nuclear Medicine Technologist. This will include working in both general Nuclear Medicine departments (SVHM Medical Imaging Department and St Vincents Private Radiology), and the PET department.

We are committed to providing training and education, and offer regular continuing professional development for staff.

  • Provide quality Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT examinations in a safe environment. 
  • Participate in the Nuclear Medicine on-call service
  • Provide support, advice and mentoring for students during their clinical placement


Classifications for this position will range from Nuclear Medicine Technologist Grade 3 CH6 - CH9 ($102,091- $116,646 per annum).


Your Contribution

  • Bachelor of Applied Science / Medical Radiations in Nuclear Medicine or equivalent
  • Current Medical Radiation Practitioner registration with AHPRA to practice as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
  • Radiation use licence issued by the Department of Health
  • Successful completion of, or a desire to complete the Diagnostic CT in Molecular Imaging Course (VSNMT) or equivalent qualification
  • Experience sufficient to permit eligibility for accreditation by the Australian and New Zealand Society of Nuclear Medicine (ANZSNM)
  • A valid Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check, or willing to obtain
  • Excellent technical and clinical skills in the full range of general Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT examinations.
  • Experience in the handling and administration of radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Awareness of all aspects of radiation safety as they pertain to the practices of Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT

The Nuclear Medicine and PET departments at St Vincents Hospital Melbourne offer a full range of both diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and are equipped with state of the art SPECT/CT cameras, and a PET/CT scanner.
