About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive candidate to join our Data Science team supporting the global business. This role involves data mining, cleaning, and preparation of datasets for ingestion into the SaaS platform. The ideal candidate will primarily work with Excel-based data and have the flexibility to use Python for advanced data cleaning tasks. Familiarity with Power BI is a plus to support data visualization and reporting. Additionally, the role includes responsibility for creating and maintaining technical documentation, specifically the user manual for the SaaS platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Extract, mine, and clean data from various sources, primarily Excel spreadsheets, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Prepare and transform data for seamless ingestion into the SaaS platform.
- Utilize Python scripting to automate and enhance data cleaning and preparation processes where applicable.
- Collaborate closely with the Offshore team and Data Science team to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.
- Support data visualization and reporting efforts using Power BI to help stakeholders make informed decisions.
- Identify data quality issues and work proactively to resolve them.
- Develop, update, and maintain technical documentation, including the user manual for the SaaS platform, ensuring clarity and usability for end users.
- Maintain data integrity and document data processes throughout the workflow.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in data mining, cleaning, and preparation, preferably in a financial or risk management context.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and data manipulation techniques.
- Working knowledge of Python for data cleaning and automation tasks.
- Familiarity with Power BI or similar data visualization tools is highly desirable.
- Experience in technical writing or documentation, with the ability to create clear and concise user manuals or guides.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
