Job Description

Technical Skills

Primary Skills (Must Have)

AWS Platform & Services (Strong Working Knowledge):
EC2, ECS/ECR, S3, CloudFront, CloudWatch, SNS/SES, RDS, EFS, VPC, Systems Manager

  • Ability to guide design decisions and review implementations

Cloud Architecture & Governance:

  • Understanding of AWS Well-Architected Framework
  • Experience managing multi-account AWS environments
  • Enforcing security, networking, and operational standards

Infrastructure as Code (Review & Governance Focus):

  • Strong understanding of CloudFormation and/or Terraform
  • Ability to review IaC templates for security, scalability, and cost efficiency
  • Promote reusable modules and standardized patterns

CI/CD & DevOps Enablement:

  • Familiarity with Jenkins / GitLab CI and GitLab / Bitbucket
  • Ability to guide teams on CI/CD best practices and operational readiness
  • Oversight of build, deployment, and rollback strategies

Containers & Modern Workloads (Conceptual + Practical Awareness):

  • Docker fundamentals and container lifecycle management
  • Understanding of ECS-based workloads (deep Kubernetes expertise not mandatory)

Cloud Security & Compliance (Operational Perspective):

  • IAM best practices, network security concepts, secrets management
  • Experience working with cloud security tools and audits (hands-on optional)

Cost, Reliability & Performance Management:

  • Cost optimization strategies (rightsizing, usage monitoring, budgets)
  • Monitoring, alerting, and incident response oversight
  • Driving operational KPIs and SLAs

Secondary Skills (Good to Have)

Linux Administration:

  • RHEL / CentOS installation and administration
  • LVM, patching, troubleshooting
  • Bash/Shell scripting
  • Performance tuning and monitoring

Exposure to configuration management or automation tools such as Ansible or PowerShell
