Northrop Grumman's Enterprise Insights & Analytics organization is seeking a manager to lead Research & Insights within Northrop Grumman’s People Analytics organization. This position will report to the Corporate Lead for Enterprise People Analytics.
This role will sit in our Falls Church, VA location but we may also consider a hybrid, or teleworker arrangement for this position.
At Northrop Grumman, People Analytics is a core domain within our Enterprise Insights & Analytics (EI&A) organization. EI&A is a team of strategic analysts, scientists, engineers, and technologists who use science, research and data to identify strategic insights and create innovative analytic solutions for our business.
In this position, you will oversee strategies and solutions in the following areas: employee listening, talent market intelligence and people data storytelling. Through these efforts, you will help HR leaders and business partners make informed decisions across multiple areas of human capital including, but not limited to talent acquisition, culture, talent management, compensation and retention.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Serving on the People Analytics leadership team where you will drive research strategy and insights generation.
Leading a team of behavioral scientists, competitive intelligence analysts and data journalists focused on the people domain.
Owning and executing the employee listening program, including surveys and assessments across the employee lifecycle.
Owning and executing the talent market intelligence program, focusing on labor trends and the employee value propositions of talent competitors.
Overseeing data-journalism projects to communicate key findings based on people research, including all stages of analysis, visualization and storytelling.
Maintaining thought leadership in employee research by staying current with the latest methodologies and tools.
Conducting strategic analyses needed to enable human capital objectives.
Identifying and articulating team priorities based on business needs.
Communicating results to an executive audience to effectively tell the data story.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience – OR – a Master’s degree and 6+ years of relevant experience – OR – a PhD and 4+ years of relevant experience.
Deep curiosity and a willingness to pull the thread on difficult questions.
Understanding of HR domain areas and metrics (such as talent acquisition, compensation, performance, learning and development, and HR metrics).
Experience conducting employee experience research with a strong understanding of survey design and sampling methodologies.
Experience conducting statistical analyses using various data types/sources (e.g., structured survey data, text, HRIS) to derive actionable insights.
Demonstrated excellence in data-driven journalism, creating compelling articles and visualizations to communicate analytics insights.
Experience in executive data storytelling, building compelling and concise presentations to communicate insights.
Ability to extract and manipulate data from databases (e.g., SQL).
Ability to use programming languages (e.g., R, Python) to conduct statistical analyses and generate visualizations.
Experience collaborating on projects with multiple teams.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance. US Citizenship is a prerequisite.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated people leadership skills in a research or analytics capacity.
Degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Math, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, Economics).
Experience with intelligence gathering related to labor market trends and employee offerings.
Solid understanding of more advanced analytics, such as machine learning.
Knowledge of the aerospace industry.
