Join an AS9100-certified aerospace/defense organization engaged in design and manufacturing as a mid-level Quality Engineer 2.  You will be assigned to a Program as the Quality representative ensuring product and process compliance, driving continual improvement, and supporting production and supplier quality using data-driven methods.  Work under general supervision, exercising independent judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action; a certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

What you will be doing:

  • Develops and implements standards and methods for product testing, evaluation, and acceptance inspection.

  • Supports process development for analysis, inspection, design, test, and/or integration to assure the quality of the assigned product or component.

  • Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.

  • Establishes program processes to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.

  • Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records.

  • Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.

  • Documents data obtained during quality activities consistent with company policies and procedures.

  • Broad responsibility for supplier quality including flow down of quality requirements.  Reviews all purchased products or components and provides input to the decision to accept the product and future purchases from the vendor.

  • Leads Material Review Board assessments and dispositions of nonconforming product.

  • Performs oversight and administration of monitoring and measuring resource processes to ensure AS/ISO compliance and timely calibration of organizational assets.

  • Performs or supports internal audits, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.

  • Drafts revisions to QMS procedures and instructions when updates are needed.

  • Engages in risk management and configuration control processes.

  • Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality activities.

  • Collaborates cross-functionally to notify management of nonconformances or significant issues identified during quality activities, providing risk-based recommendations for process improvements.

  • Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality activities.

  • Recommends and proactively takes action on process improvements.

  • Prepares and presents technical and program information to team members and management.

  • Directs technical and administrative workers engaged in quality activities.

  • Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards.

  • Daily availability, including evenings and weekends when necessary, to accomplish mission requirements, goals, and deadlines.

What you bring to the table:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in a related field and a minimum of 2 years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a general knowledge of Microsoft Office and Quality Software.

  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen

  • Ability to travel (domestically/internationally) approximately 10%

Nice to Have:

  • Basic Knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100, and applicable industry/government standards.

  • Basic knowledge of ISO 10012 or ISO 17025.

  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen.

  • Experience with monitoring and measuring devices such as Keyence, Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), and optical comparator.

  

Salary Range:

$74,300.00-$99,100.000
