As the Staff Engineer TPO, you bridge product vision and engineering execution, translating complex ML/AI solutions into implementable architectures.
You combine deep technical expertise with leadership and influence across large, parallel initiatives. You ensure feasibility and technical integrity while adapting solution intent to execution realities. Through collaboration and best‑practice engineering, you drive delivery aligned with business outcomes.

As a Staff Engineer Technical Product Owner, you will be responsible for:

  • Collaborate closely with the Solution Manager to preserve solution intent while adapting to execution realities

  • Lead architectural and technical decisions to ensure feasibility, clarity, and technical completeness

  • Own and manage the initiative backlog (features, user stories), driving refinement aligned with delivery constraints

  • Lead estimation efforts, assessing technical complexity, risks, and cross‑discipline dependencies

  • Lead technical deep‑dives and requirements definition, translating product and customer needs into actionable specs

  • Guide AI/ML use case definition, data readiness, and model selection trade‑offs

  • Act as the primary technical stakeholder interface, communicating status, risks, and decisions

  • Provide technical leadership and influence across cross‑functional teams to drive successful outcomes.

To be successful in this role you will:  

  • Have a strong software engineering foundation (architecture, APIs, microservices, cloud)

  • Have knowledge of AI/ML platforms and techniques (Azure, OpenAI, Databricks, LangChain)

  • Have the ability to write clear, executable features and user stories

  • Have strong analytical and systems‑thinking skills to assess trade‑offs and impacts

  • Be execution‑focused, pragmatic, and detail‑oriented

  • Have experience with Agile/Scrum and DevOps practices (CI/CD, monitoring)

  • Have experience managing technical risk across complex initiatives

  • Have demonstrated technical leadership, influence, and effective communication with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
