The Control Systems Engineer V will design, code, tests, debug and document new electrical control system hardware and software for mobile equipment. Collect and process design criteria for large scale design projects. Independently lead cross functional research and development and design teams for major product development projects. Assure all project design criteria is met. Lead and present complex design reviews to all level of management as well as internal and external customers. Represent GSE as an expert in existing and emerging technology. Perform product failure analyses, report findings, and develop and implement purposed solutions.

YOUR IMPACT:  

  • Conceive, design, check, validate, and test complex electrical and software control systems for heavy mobile equipment
  • Utilize expert knowledge to lead and implement innovative, practical, and safe designs and solutions to complex issues
  • Evaluate competing and new technologies to develop new designs and concepts
  • Provide expert knowledge of industry and regulatory design and safety requirements
  • Produce designs in compliance with such requirements
  • Lead in-house and independent certification processes to confirm compliance with such requirements
  • Provide strong leadership to multidiscipline design teams. Become a respected mentor and coach for team members
  • Maintain schedule attainment goals, accuracy goals, and cost containment targets for large scale projects with multiple design segments
  • Become a respected and trusted resource for the Sales and Marketing team
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers to influence purchase decisions
  • Represent GSE throughout the industry to protect our interests, convey our expertise, and advance the industry knowledge base
  • Ability to apply knowledge from all disciplines of engineering (mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, and software) to the design and control of complex mobile equipment systems
  • Expert application of engineering skills within their degree discipline
  • Utilization of Siemens NX and Teamcenter to create and revise 2D and 3D models and drawings
  • Perform product validation, manufacturing, and test duties for extended periods of time as required by business needs or training purposes
  • Lead software standards committee focused on standardizing and improving software development processes and procedures
  • Other duties as required

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Accredited Bachelor's degree in mechanical/electrical Engineering or related field with eight (8) or more years of related experience.

  • CoDeSys experience

STANDOUT QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Understanding of hydraulic systems
