WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR
Momentum Worldwide is looking for an ambitious, critical thinker with sports sponsorship marketing experience and passion for pursuing meaningful insights to impact branded experiences. Our Director, Partnerships will be responsible for providing strategic counsel to oversee the planning, management and optimization of our \clients’ sponsorship investments within the world of sports, entertainment & lifestyle. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to be part of the fast-growing partnerships discipline at an award-winning, creative brand experience agency.
The responsibilities include serving as the lead with our clients and agency partners on thought leadership, portfolio management, and strategic planning for the client’s local and national sponsorship investments.

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL DO (RESPONSIBILITIES)

  • Work directly with team and league contacts and client staff to ensure fulfillment of all contractual assets and flawless partnership execution on a day-to-day basis.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on client’s sponsorship portfolio including terms, assets, financials and property processes, procedures and structure.
  • Serve as a sports & entertainment sponsorship SME, providing industry expertise and thought leadership to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to Interpret relevant first and third-party data sets, inclusive of research, and divine key insights for client consumption and cohesive narrative storytelling.
  • Interpret and implement GEICO’s business strategy to develop impactful partnerships by selecting the right assets and ensuring their effective activation.
  • Support management of client’s sponsorship portfolio across MLB (League & Teams), NHL (League and Teams), NFL (Teams), and soccer (Leagues Cup). Responsible for partnership management, strategic direction, integration, and negotiation to maximize the value of each sponsorship.
  • Lead some day-to-day property relationships including oversight of the asset allocation process related to sponsorship platform.
  • Run all monthly and other key meetings with both internal and external constituents and external agencies.
  • Oversee creation of presentations, progress reports, recaps and other strategic documents on programming.
  • Identify and support areas of sponsorship tool development or methodological enhancement.
  • Serves as research lead in areas such as sponsorship industry trends, white papers and case studies.
  • Build and oversee program budgets, project management tools and timelines.
  • Manage and mentor direct reports, fostering an environment of mutual respect and partnership, strategic thinking, appropriate risk taking, open lines of communication, on-going performance feedback, professional development, and adherence to agency policy.
  • Provide meaningful review experience and career guidance for assigned team members and ensuring review managers are doing the same.

HERE’S WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR (QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS)

  • 8+ years of proven experience in sports sponsorship strategy and account management. (Team sports or property experiences strongly preferred; especially in baseball, hockey football and soccer)
  • Prior experience developing successful integrated sponsorship activations, initiatives, and campaigns with cross-functional agency/client teams
  • Prior people management experience required

  • Prior budget and asset management experience required
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills and adept at communicating effectively with clients.
  • Experience leading presentation of materials to clients or internal stakeholders
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities at any given time, coordinating key timelines, and leading teams performing under pressure with strong attention to detail
  • Experienced in strategic thinking and ability to see, articulate and drive to the big picture
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)
  • Willing to work non-traditional hours including weekend travel
  • A passion to help and develop people – making yourself readily available to answer questions and offer support, and the ability to motivate people to succeed
  • Experience in leading teams to accomplish a shared objective.


SALARY RANGE
The salary range for this position is from $120,000 to $135,000. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position; market considerations; location and region; budgetary considerations; tenure and standing with the company (applicable to current employees); as well as the employee’s/applicant’s background, pertinent experience, and qualifications.
