Job Description :

Storyful is seeking a talented Lead Product Designer who will mentor and collaborate with other designers to deliver best in class and coherent digital products and experiences. You will act as an advocate for the team across all departments to better interpret our users needs into thoughtful design solutions. You will be an integral part of the Product Leadership team, who between them oversee the entire tech team, promoting collaboration across all teams, setting best practice standards across all work while also reporting to the CPO.

You will also be a key member of a product team, where you are required to champion your product’s users and deliver meaningful experiences, converting research and data insights into ideas which direct the product and your team. The role is responsible for creating and overseeing detailed user experience design solutions, prototyping, product architecture, and testing ideas with real users, which all feed into producing slick interface design and visual direction for your products.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor the design team

• Report directly to the CPO

• Attend weekly Product leadership meetings  

• Have excellent organisational skills and experience in an agile, constantly changing environment.

• Promote and champion design consistency.

• Creating and overseeing detailed user experience design solutions

• Advocate for user testing to validate design decisions

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills

• Work in a multidisciplinary team using agile approaches

• Ability to produce quick, low-fidelity sketches right up to sleek, high fidelity visuals.

• Self starter and a pro active team player

• A high degree of experience with Sketch and/or Adobe, and familiarity with prototyping tools such as InVision

• A desire to work closely and collaboratively with talented developers and product owners

Requirements

• BA/BS in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Human Factors, Psychology, HCI, Product Design, Architecture, Industrial design or a related field

• 5+ years’ experience in similar role (Product work not just websites)

• A strong portfolio or samples of work demonstrating relevant experience.

• Experience working with and creating pattern libraries
