A Day in the Life

At Acute Care & Monitoring, we are working to develop the future of patient monitoring solutions for healthcare.  As Software Delivery Manager, you will be accountable for software development of Acute Care & Monitoring projects at Medtronic’s engineering facility in Hyderabad, India (MEIC).  You will act as the local communication conduit for the Boulder, Colorado team with MEIC and ensure alignment between the two sites.  You will collaborate with the Boulder and MEIC managers and project leads to ensure that timelines are accurate and met, processes are effective and followed, and deliverables meet expectations.  You will work to ensure that the appropriate resources are available for project requirements and plan for future resourcing needs based on the project roadmap.  You will ensure technical alignment, communication clarity, and delivery quality across geographic and time zone boundaries.

This is an onsite role at our Lafayette, Colorado office.

Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for delivery of project technical deliverables and artifacts within expected timelines
  • Accountable for the quality, completeness, and consistency of deliverables
  • Accountable for maintaining focus of MEIC staff based on project prioritization
  • Work with MEIC staff to understand and refine work estimations and scope
  • Act as first point of contact between Boulder and MEIC staff
  • Work with Boulder and MEIC staff to identify and remove roadblocks and understand reasoning behind any project delays
  • Work with Boulder staff to understand expectations and communicate them to MEIC staff
  • Create and share project status updates and reports
  • Communicate progress, risks, and changes between Boulder and MEIC teams
  • Proactively work on mitigation plans in coordination with both Boulder and MEIC leads when timeline issues arise
  • Ensure action items from project retrospectives and lessons learned sessions are implemented at MEIC
  • Analyze roadmap to ensure appropriate project resourcing needs are communicated and budgeted
  • Conduct regular meetings with Boulder and MEIC staff and share notes (may require meeting early or late at times appropriate to each time zone)
  • Coordinate between product support and MEIC R&D to prioritize and conduct field issue investigation in products
  • Collaborate with MEIC managers to ensure staff have appropriate skills and domain knowledge
  • Drive consistency in best practices between Boulder & R&D
  • Develop deep understanding of projects being worked on, with ability to discuss features and issues, progress, and prioritization
  • Consolidate resource data for Meisterplan to provide to Boulder leadership
  • Address questions from Boulder or MEIC by going to the right people at either site to get answers
  • Organize, schedule, and conduct project demos to show new features and milestones to stakeholders
  • Assess equipment needs for project success and arrange the budgeting of and acquisition of needed equipment
  • Capture and report metrics to measure the efficiency, progress, and effectiveness of work being done on projects.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in software engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or related field
  • 7+ years of software engineering experience or advanced degree + 5 years of software engineering experience
  • Proficient in English, Telugu and Hindi languages to facilitate communication with MEIC

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with software development and testing
  • Experience with managing project schedules and resources
  • Experience with Agile and sprint management and reporting
  • Experience with issue tracking and sprint management tools such as Jira and Polarion
  • Solid communication skills
  • Schedule flexibility to allow communication with India and US time zones
  • 4 years of experience in medical device industry

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$148,000.00 - $222,000.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
