Job Description

As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will provide community visits to assess abilities and needs of individuals while working with multidisciplinary teams. You will work independently with primarily adult clients in their homes on a face to face basis, or in a virtual capacity for those living outside of the region. If you are looking for an environment where you get to use a variety of your therapy skills to improve the well being of others and build your passion for Home Care, then this role will be right for you!

What you’ll do: 

• Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team consisting of healthcare workers and other community resources 

• Provide assessments in a home setting based on presenting impairment or diagnosis using standardized tools
• You will see individuals with a wide variety of concerns including but not limited to clients recovering from stroke or other neurological problems, thus conducting speaking and swallowing assessments
• Design a care plan using evidence-based information, relevant best practice guidelines, and clinical expertise
• Partner with our client’s family members, caregivers and other healthcare professionals regarding care goals and service plans.

• Maintain professional client records related to client encounters and plans in compliance with ParaMed’s policies and the standards applied by the regulatory body or CASPLO. 

What you bring: 

• Registration with the provincial College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (in good standing) 

• Accepting New Graduates Licensed 

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills 

• Knowledge of applicable community resources available for clients and families 

• Current certification (within the past 12 months) of First Aid and CPR 

• A valid driver’s license and have access to a reliable vehicle 

• Able to provide a current, clear Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS)
