Engineering Manager, Proposals

AcuityMD is a software and data platform that accelerates access to medical technologies. Each year, the FDA approves ~6,000 new medical devices. Our platform helps MedTech companies get these products to physicians more effectively so they can improve patient care with the latest technology. We are looking for a strongly technical and empathetic engineering leader to lead our Proposals team, helping our MedTech customers highlight their products’ clinical and financial benefits to providers. Reporting to the VP Engineering, you will be instrumental in guiding the team’s technical investments, achieving product success, growing the team, and mentoring engineers. You will join the engineering leadership team to help shape the culture, processes, and technical investments across engineering.

Team Mission

The Proposals team is responsible for helping our customers drive better patient outcomes by highlighting the clinical and financial benefits of innovative medical devices during sales discussions with providers and health systems. This team utilizes a unique patient-level longitudinal dataset, cutting-edge analyses on top of our custom analytical processing layer, and AI to craft compelling and personalized proposals that our customers use to close more deals faster and expand access to the latest medical technology.

Responsibilities

• Successfully deliver the right product for the right use cases in partnership with our product team
• Craft the engineering roadmap that best supports the product and business strategy that will deliver the most value to our customers
• Be a strong voice for technical excellence, a passionate advocate for thoughtful software design, and a mentor and coach who inspires engineers to grow
• Drive initiatives across our engineering team to build and reinforce our culture of expansive ownership, individual autonomy, and constant learning through curiosity
• Contribute meaningfully to the growth of each engineer individually and to the team’s overall operating capability
• Collaborate with Product and Design to own and execute on the team’s roadmap, adapting it as we learn
• Facilitate collaboration with other teams to deliver the best solution for the customer regardless of internal lines of ownership
• Lead and advocate for better development practices
• Take a leadership role throughout the engineering organization, including in our hiring and onboarding processes

Your Profile

• 5+ years of experience as a professional software engineer
• 3+ years of experience as a deeply-technical engineering manager
• Experience leading complex technical projects
• Proven track record of architecting, building, and delivering software
• Strong leadership, collaboration, and communication skills

You must have an eligible work permit in the USA or Canada to be considered for this position.
