The Concessions Bartenders are a crucial part of the Office of the Arts’ Guest Experience team, providing snack and beverage service at hundreds of events within the Cutler Majestic Theatre and Paramount Center throughout the year. Shifts can vary between these locations. Concessions Bartenders are TIPS Certified cashiers, trained to serve a variety of consumable items, including both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. Concessions Bartenders are expected to facilitate sales at events where items are sold to audiences as well at receptions where items are distributed free of charge. This position reports to the Guest Experience Manager.ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Greet guests and take orders for food and beverage items
Accept payment from guests and make change as necessary
Manage operation of POS system for assigned shifts, accepting cash, credit, or electronic payments
Maintain the highest quality standards and portion consistency
Maintain the overall cleanliness and organization of the Concessions booth
Assist in the set up and break down of the Concessions booth before and after the event, including relocating inventory items, counting cash banks, and organizing display shelves
Ensure the safety of all patrons by checking ID’s for all alcoholic item sales and observing patron behavior
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS – Qualifications are deemed required or preferred and represent what is needed to effectively perform job.
TIPS On-Premise Certified (This can be provided.)
Customer Service Experience required
General Cash handling or POS Experience strongly preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES – May be representative, but not all-inclusive, of those knowledge, skills, and abilities commonly associated with the job.
Ability to calculate basic math functions (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, percentages) as they relate to POS cash/credit transactions, cash reconciliation and product inventory.
Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly
Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment
Ability to speak, read and write in English
Ability to provide excellent customer service

Compensation for this position is $17.50 hourly.
