Position Summary...

Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales. Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities. Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans; using the Open Door Policy; and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in executing business processes and practices.

What you'll do...

About Team:

This is the team which builds reusable technologies that aid in acquiring customers, onboarding and empowering merchants besides ensuring a seamless experience for both these stakeholders. We also optimize tariffs and assortment, adhering to the Walmart philosophy - Everyday Low Cost. In addition to ushering in affordability, we also create personalized experiences for customers the omnichannel way, across all channels - in-store, on the mobile app and websites.  

 

Marketplace is the gateway to domestic and international Third-Party sellers; we enable them to manage their end-to-end onboarding, catalog management, order fulfilment, return & refund management. Our team is responsible for design, development, and operations of large-scale distributed systems by leveraging cutting-edge technologies in web/mobile, cloud, big data & AI/ML.  We interact with multiple teams across the company to provide scalable robust technical solutions. 

 

What you'll do:

  • Translate HLD to LLD, development, implementation and documentation 

  • Build, test and deploy cutting edge solutions at scale, impacting associates of Walmart worldwide. 

  • Interact with Walmart engineering teams across geographies to leverage expertise and contribute to the tech community. 

  • Engage with Product Management and Business to break down the technical stories, estimation for the stories.  

  • Drive the success of the implementation by applying technical skills, build technical solutions to deliver the functionalities on time with high quality and standards. 

  • Work closely with the leads and cross functional teams and follow established practices for the delivery of solutions meeting QCD (Quality, Cost & Delivery). Within the established design guidelines. 

 

What you'll bring:

  • ·      B.Tech. / B.E. / M.Tech. / M.S. in Computer Science 

  • 3+ years of experience in design and development of highly -scalable applications and platform development in product based companies or R&D divisions. 

  • Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, design patterns. 

  • Extensive hands-on experience building backend applications using these technologies -Java, Springboot, Microservices, 

  • Good understanding of NoSQL & relational databases 

  • Foundational knowledge of Cloud Concepts(Azure,AWS,GCP etc), Object oriented design patterns 

  • Agile methodologies and DevOps 

  • CI/CD development environments/tools: Git, Docker, Kubernetes. 

  • Well versed in TDD,BDD methodologies and the enabling tools and technologies - JUnit, TestNG, Cucumber, CI/CD etc. 

  • Strong hands on development skills. 

  • Strong desire to drive change, and ability to adapt to change quickly. Proficient in new and emerging technologies. 

  • Ability to convert high level design to low level design. 

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Practitioner of Agile (Scrum) methodology
